Foliage: Evergreen Magnolia Bloom: Bloom Buds which are a furry orangish cigar-shaped, start formation the previous late summer to fall… Then start opening small, but very fragrant, creamy-yellow flowers from late spring through summer. The blossoms are beautiful and roughly ~1-across with each of six waxy petals delicately outlined in dark red. Leaves are narrow, oblong, glossy green, quite lovely.
Notes: It is called Banana Shrub because of the distinctive, sweet banana scent of its flowers.
